I am a mother of one. One very active, intelligent, can light up a room, toddler that I call “Squid”. If you saw the way his hands attached to everything you pass or how he could wiggle from your arms in one twist, you’d understand! I’m a full-time wife and mommy and part-time preschool childcare worker at our church. I never fully understood how much I loved and needed Christ until I had a baby, especially one with food allergies.
“I prayed to the Lord and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.” Psalms 34:4
I live by this scripture (among others) because otherwise I’d be a nervous wreck over my child’s safety around food. Yes, I worry but I know God is watching over him.
We do still have meat in most of our dishes but having a food allergy child has made us explore foods we thought we’d never try. Vegan. God bless vegans! They make life with dairy and egg allergies so much easier!
